Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide, sometimes called "laughing gas", may be given to your child to keep him/her comfortable during dental procedures. Nitrous oxide / oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide.
It is inhaled through a small mask that fits over your child's face, allowing them to relax while putting them to sleep.
The gas is mild, easily taken, then with normal breathing, it is quickly eliminated from the body. It's alsononaddictive. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes this technique as very safe and effective. During the procedure, your child will remain fully conscious and keep all of their natural reflexes.
